The Communications Fellows program includes experiences designed to take students off campus and provides them with hands-on exposure to their chosen industries. Each Fellow also receives a $1,000 study abroad grant to be used for an approved off-campus experience.

In their first semester, all 30 Communications Fellows head to Atlanta for a two-day professional immersion experience. In the past, students have visited companies such as CNN and Turner Broadcasting and gotten a behind-the-scenes tour of the Atlanta Braves stadium.

In the past several years, Communications Fellows have interviewed internationally recognized digital experts at the Internet Governance Forum in Brazil, Mexico and Switzerland.
