The Communications Fellows program includes experiences designed to take students off campus and provides them with hands-on exposure to their chosen industries. Each Fellow also receives a $1,000 study abroad grant to be used for an approved off-campus experience.

In their first semester, all Communications Fellows head to Atlanta for a two-day professional immersion experience. In the past, students have visited companies such as CNN, Delta and Turner Broadcasting and received behind-the-scenes tours of Mercedes-Benz Stadium, home of the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United, and State Farm Arena, which houses the Atlanta Hawks.

During Winter Term of their first year, Fellows majoring in Communications have the opportunity to take The Fellows Experience, a special course that offers an inside look at the media and communications industries in Central Florida.

I learned a lot and saw a lot and experienced way more than I ever thought I would in the first three months that I was here.
