Religious and Spiritual Opportunities on Campus

Fall 2023 Truitt Center Weekly Events Flyer

The Truitt Center offers opportunities each week for worship, religious observance, or other spiritual practices on-campus while school is in session.

From our Thursday tradition, Numen Lumen: A Thursday Inspiration, to weekly prayer and worship hosted by our Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, and Muslim communities, to weekly gatherings for yoga and meditation, you can find way to connect with your spirituality at the Truitt Center.

Offerings for the Fall of 2023

Numen Lumen: A Thursday Inspiration

Thursdays, 9:50-10:20 a.m. – Numen Lumen Pavilion Sacred Space
Numen Lumen is a time and space to take a break from the busyness of the week and refresh the spirit. It is a time of reflection, a way to strengthen our community by collectively creating a space where the stories that make us can be shared with courage and received with love. We’re grateful to our speakers for sharing the gift of their stories, their time, and their humanity. Every week there is also a musical performance provided by students, faculty, staff, or special guests. Videos are posted every Thursday on the Truitt Center Blog. This year’s theme is: “Meaningful Relationships Matter”.

Meditation and Yoga

These spiritual opportunities are available to all students from diverse religious and non-religious traditions.

Mondays, 7:30 p.m. – Elon Yoga Club
Yoga Club is for students from all backgrounds and skill levels who are interested in doing Yoga together as a spiritual practice (multifaith, religious and non-religious welcome). Yoga Club meets in the Numen Lumen Pavilion. Get connected with Elon Yoga Club on PhoenixCONNECT.

Thursdays, 4:30 p.m. – Meditation with Iron Tree Blooming
Learn and practice meditation in community with others. No experience necessary. Iron Tree Bloom is a group for students associated with Rinzai Zen, a tradition-based and not a faith-based practice. For Fall 2023, the group sits in the meditation garden beside Numen Lumen Pavilion, weather-permitting, and inside Numen Lumen when it rains. Get connected with Iron Tree Bloomin on PhoenixCONNECT.
