Dean Mary Gowan Welcome to the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business Web site. The mission of our school is to prepare responsible leaders for the 21st century, and we take that mission very seriously.

We know that success in business requires more than textbooks and classroom lectures. As a result, we embrace an engaged learning model that integrates theory and practice.

Our faculty bring their own hands-on business experience to the classroom. We also bring executives into the classroom to share their experiences, use cases and simulations to help students master concepts, offer study abroad courses that focus on the global economy and entrepreneurial activities, and provide opportunities for students to participate with faculty on groundbreaking research and consulting projects.

We require all undergraduates to participate in at least one internship to prepare them for their future roles in business enterprises. In addition, we engage graduate students and executives in extensive and intensive personal assessments and management practicums to help them identify and develop their leadership skills.

Our MBA program is ranked #12 in the nation and #2 in the South, and is the top-ranked program in North Carolina based on data compiled by BusinessWeek. These rankings are a testament to the quality of the educational programs we provide for all of our students.
