International Applicants: U.S. Citizens in school outside of the U.S.

Elon's Office of International Admissions processes applications for the following students:

• Non–U.S. citizens
• Dual Citizens
• U.S. permanent residents (green card holders)
• U.S. citizens in schools anywhere outside the country

A student can obtain an undergraduate admissions application from the Office of International Admissions—or you may apply online or download a copy of the application.

U.S. Citizens applying for undergraduate admission who attend school outside of the United States must submit:

• Completed undergraduate application
• Nonrefundable US$50 application fee
• Translated transcripts from all high school/secondary schools attended
• 250-500 word essay
• Counselor Evaluation Form completed by the appropriate secondary school official
• Official SAT I or ACT score
  • Please note that students must submit a writing score as part of their standardized test profile. Either the SAT or ACT writing test will fulfill this requirement.
  • Elon's school code for the SAT is 5183 and for the ACT, it is 3096.

Advanced Credit

Elon offers students college credit for Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) programs on a course-by-course basis, depending on the level, subject and score achieved on the appropriate exam. We also recognize the College Level Examination Program (CLEP) and the British "A" levels. Additionally, the French Baccalaureate, German Arbitur or Swiss Maturite may also be considered for credit. Advanced standing is not granted until students have been admitted and the official report of exam results is received and evaluated.

Cost

Elon University’s cost can be found on the Financial Aid website. Please note that this amount does not include transportation costs, books, other assorted living expenses, and health insurance.

All Elon University students are required to have health insurance. Students may purchase a school-sponsored health insurance plan or may waive this option if they are currently covered by a comparable insurance plan of their own.
