Living an authentic life with meaning and purpose. Create workshops to help students articulate the spiritual values that underlie their life choices. Invite panelists who include professionals from diverse fields and majors to share how their vocations express their spiritual values.
Spirituality and the Arts
Exploring spirituality through music, dance, drama and the visual arts. Host a guest artist, musician, sculptor, etc. who illustrates the spiritual dimension of art. Assist the Thursday Chapel Intern to enrich the weekly service by inviting students and faculty/staff to share their artistic talents.
Interfaith Exploration (Fall 08)
Understanding my own and others’ faith traditions. Invite representatives of diverse religious traditions to appear together, demonstrating genuine interfaith conversation. Provide opportunities for students of different traditions to learn from one another.
Environmental Stewardship
Practicing care for the creation. Provide programs giving attention to issues such as threats to the environment, species protection and sustainable development. Create experiences to provide an increased awareness of creation care.
Reconciliation and Social Justice (Spring 09)
Practicing peacemaking and community building. Organize monthly off-campus service opportunities. Invite people committed to justice and the work of reconciliation to come to campus for a 2-3 day residency program each semester.
