Quest is an Alternative Break program focused on interfaith exploration, dialogue, and engagement.  Students will stay on Elon's campus and visit diverse places of worship in Burlington and the surrounding communities.  The group will learn the history, practices, and beliefs of several world religions and participate in worship and service opportunities.  Quest participants will gain a deeper understanding of diverse religious traditions and become familiar with the wealth of resources on Elon's campus and the surrounding community for interfaith exploration. 



Location: You needn't travel hundreds of miles to experience the richness of religious and cultural diversity.  Central North Carolina provides an immense assortment of authentic worshipping communities from a vast array of faith traditions.





Sample Itinerary:

  • Complete the Elon Challenge ropes course
  • Meet religiously diverse members of Elon's faculty and Religious Life staff
  • Tour the city of Burlington and its houses of worship
  • Visit a mosque for Jummah prayers
  • Visit the North Carolina Zen Center and participate in meditation
  • Visit a Sikh Temple
  • Visit a synagogue for Shabbat service
  • Visit a Hindu Temple
  • Visit a Greek Orthodox Church
  • Visit the International Civil Rigths Museum in Greensboro
  • Attend a Greensboro Grasshoppers Game
