Why Elon? Elon is a place that allows me to be myself. The community here is welcoming and open-minded, so I know I can be who I really am without being judged. Elon also allows me to explore my many passions as I pursue a BFA while being able to graduate in 4 years.
My most memorable Elon experience: I celebrated my 18th birthday at Elon and one of my friends celebrated his birthday the day after, so we had a joint 18th birthday party for both of us and it was one of the most fun nights I’ve had at Elon.
Favorite Elon tradition: The homecoming football game is my favorite tradition because it’s the one game a lot of people go to and there’s a sense of community as we all rally against the opposing team. Even when we went into five overtimes, almost breaking a record, being there with everyone and singing our fight song was something I really enjoyed.

Why Elon? I chose Elon for a lot of reasons. I came from a high school where the community was the foundation for not only personal but also academic success. Elon was the only school in which I felt that the institution placed a significant value on community to foster success. Connections are also important in the investment of higher education and Elon has phenomenal postgraduate connections.
My most memorable Elon experience: I have so many memories here at Elon! I have made Some of my best friends while being a student here. Although very simple, I love golf carts. Some of my best friends and I went on a golf cart around campus! I think that is one of my favorite things about Elon, you can have so much fun in the most unexpected ways.
My favorite Elon tradition: My favorite Elon tradition is the Festival of Holiday Lights! I love this event because not only are all the students in the holiday mood, but it is also an excellent opportunity to learn more about other students’ religious celebrations.

Why Elon? Elon is such a close community that it makes you feel like family as soon as you step onto campus! There are so many ways to get involved on campus and make connections with other students that the school really begins to feel like home.
Favorite Elon tradition: Festival of Holiday Lights in December. The campus is decorated with beautiful luminaries and lit up by lights on all the trees. I love this tradition because it is a time that the whole campus can come together and enjoy each other’s company while staying warm with hot chocolate and celebrating all cultures and holidays.
My most memorable Elon experience: Although I haven’t experienced Elon for that long, my most memorable experience was first-year orientation. Everyone on campus was so welcoming and open and just ready to meet new people. My orientation leaders were so helpful with the transition into college, and I made so many good friends through my orientation group.

Favorite Elon tradition: My favorite Elon tradition is the Festival of Holiday Lights because it is a great event to get everybody in the holiday season, and the lights and candles around campus make it such a beautiful and relaxing night.
My most memorable Elon experience: My most memorable Elon experience is S’mores Outdoors, which is an event every Wednesday night and is a great time to sit around a bonfire, catch up with friends, make some s’mores and take a break from the busy day.

Why Elon? For me to succeed in school I need to have close relationship with my teachers. I don’t do well in large classrooms, so Elon’s small classrooms were perfect for me.
My favorite Elon tradition: My favorite Elon tradition is the acorn-to-sapling tradition. When you first come to Elon you get an acorn and when you graduate you get an oak sapling. I like how it symbolizes how much we have grown as people throughout our time at Elon. I also love how we only get a sapling because we are going to grow a lot more after college.
My most memorable Elon experience: My most memorable Elon experience was when my little brother came down to visit. It was nice seeing him since we hadn’t seen each other in a while. I really loved showing him around campus and spending time with him.

Why Elon? I chose Elon because the atmosphere here is very open and inviting! I love how I can broaden my horizons through so many unique opportunities and have so much support from friends and faculty. Elon is the kind of place where you can meet great people just by walking to class, which is one of the reasons I knew the school would be a great fit for me!
My most memorable Elon experience: My most memorable experience at Elon was the Diwali celebration in November. I was worried about the holiday because it was my first one ever away from home, but the event turned out to be great! I was able to share stories about my family’s traditions, watch live singing and dancing and enjoy authentic Indian food! The celebration was a big success, and it made me feel like I could keep my traditions alive, even if I was away from home. I cannot wait for the next one!
Favorite Elon tradition: My favorite tradition is College Coffee! It’s a great way to start off my Tuesday mornings because I get to meet up with friends and professors, learn about upcoming events and of course, enjoy a great cup of coffee!

Favorite Elon tradition: Favorite Elon Tradition is the Festival of Holiday Lights every December. I love this tradition because it is a great way to spend time with friends and loved ones at school, celebrate the many traditions of love and light around the holidays, and enjoy our gorgeous campus.
Most memorable Elon experience: My most memorable Elon experience so far has been my time with Adventures in Leadership, an outdoor orientation program during the summer before my first year, and again in the summer before sophomore year as a facilitator. The AIL community has introduced me to so many wonderful people and throughout my experience, I have learned so much about resilience, leadership and community building.
Why Elon? I chose Elon because I felt the joy and passion emanating from all of the students, staff and faculty toward the Elon community. Every person I spoke to showed me how much they love this place and that made me want to call it home more than anything.

Why Elon? I applied to Elon because of the prestige of the music theatre program, but I ultimately chose to attend Elon because I felt an immediate sense of community on campus. Elon has also allowed me to learn and experience points of interest outside of my major. For example, even though I am a theatre major, I am still able to continue my intensive dance and choreography training, as well as expanding my skills through Leadership Fellows. It has given me the ability to prepare for a career in the arts where I can continue to advocate for the equality of marginalized identities in the industry.
Favorite Elon tradition: My favorite Elon tradition is the Festival of Holiday Lights because campus looks gorgeous with the trees draped in lights and the paths lined with luminaries. Walking around with friends to search for the luminaries with our names on them and enjoying the spirit of the season is such a lovely experience. Plus, it gives people an opportunity to share the holiday traditions of various cultures!
My most memorable Elon experience: Although I haven’t experienced Elon in a world without a pandemic, I’ve still loved the experience of collaborating with my classmates and meeting new people. Some highlights include rehearsing for Elon Cares, our Leadership Fellows retreat, and meeting older classmates while filming for Collage. I’m excited to see Elon back in full swing!

Favorite Elon tradition: Receiving an acorn during New Student Convocation is its own little challenge. You have to keep track of it for four years. The cupule on mine has already fallen off, but hopefully, fingers crossed, I’ll still have it at the end of my four years here.
Most memorable Elon experience: I went to Food for Thought, and event hosted by the CREDE for Asian and Pacific Islander students, and that was the first time I’ve seen Asian food on campus. I was overly excited to see all the snacks laid out on the table and people who enjoyed it as much as I did.
Why Elon? Coming from a STEM school, it was the first time I met people who were interested in creative arts like me. They talked about projects that interested me, and I knew right away that these were the people I wanted to be around.

Why Elon? I was drawn to the community Elon has to offer. Coming from a smaller high school, I was used to school feeling like home and like I have a place and purpose in the community. I craved a place where I saw familiar faces daily, felt included and welcomed at school and events, and had many people guiding me throughout my four years at college. At Elon, I have found exactly that and more. Through involvement in community, clubs and extracurricular activities, I have been able to find a missing piece of myself and really enhance the person I am becoming. I have found so much mentorship and guidance that I really need to help provide me structure.
Most memorable Elon experience: So far, my most memorable Elon experience has been sitting on the lawn in Colonnades Neighborhood with some friends. A few of them brought their guitars out to play some music. We were laughing, singing and sunbathing in the warmth of the afternoon sun. Something about this was so peaceful. This moment made me realize that I was at home. This feeling of community and closeness was exactly what I had been looking for.
Favorite Elon tradition: My favorite Elon Tradition is receiving the acorn. Receiving the acorn happens during New Student Convocation. It symbolizes the growth that you are going to go through during your time at Elon. When we start as a first-year student, we are small acorns being planted at Elon University with an infinite amount of room to grow. During our time here, we are watered, given sunlight and taken care of until we blossom by the time we are graduating.

Most memorable Elon experience: My most memorable experience was studying abroad in Costa Rica. I loved getting to know new people, as well as exploring Costa Rica’s diverse ecosystems. I also got the chance to engage with a language that I had not studied in several years!
Favorite Elon tradition: My favorite Elon tradition is the Festival of Holiday Lights because I love seeing the community come together and learning how different cultures celebrate the holidays. Hot chocolate is always a plus

Why Elon? I chose Elon because as soon as I stepped onto this campus during a tour, I felt like this university was meant for me. I really enjoyed how much Elon valued their study abroad programs. In addition, I really valued the student-to-teacher ratio, which allows for small class sizes that have really helped me form genuine relationships with the faculty of various departments.
Favorite Elon tradition: My favorite Elon tradition is the hypnotist show. This is a great way for students to join together and enjoy a night on campus with their peers, before the start of the fall semester.
Most memorable Elon experience: My most memorable Elon experience was being a part of the hypnotist show during my first year of college. After the hypnotist made me forget my name, I was able to be in front of thousands of students while I sang my name. I would say this experience became a major conversation starter!

Favorite Elon tradition: My favorite tradition is the Festival of Holiday Lights because it is a chance for all students to come together before break. The campus looks so beautiful and festive, and you can really feel a sense of community. It is also a chance to take a break from schoolwork and just enjoy being at Elon.
Most memorable Elon experience: My most memorable Elon experience was taking a Winter Term course with the Honors Fellows Program. The professors were amazing, and I learned so much about a subject I never would have chosen otherwise. I was also able to make great connections with the other students in my class, which made the class so much more memorable.

Why Elon? When I toured Elon, I had this overwhelming sense that this was where I was meant to be. The campus is beautiful, everyone was so friendly, and it felt like the perfect size. I had no trouble envisioning myself in a classroom, walking to get coffee at Oak House or spending hours at the library. I felt so welcomed by the community and so comfortable around campus that Elon became my top choice. Two years in and I still feel the same way.
Favorite Elon tradition: My favorite Elon Tradition is College Coffee because it’s an example of how professors and students value their relationships with each other. Elon professors are extremely passionate about their chosen fields of study and love nothing more than to share that passion with students.
Most memorable Elon experience: My most memorable Elon experience so far was the Elon Dining Farm Table dinner I attended. Elon Dining does a raffle contest where the winners attend a farm-to-table meal created by Elon’s executive chefs. With the backdrop of Loy Farms (one of my favorite places on campus), great company and amazing food, it felt like such a treat on a school night! The chefs were so gracious and so excited to talk about how they approach sustainable farming and how Elon supports local businesses.

Why Elon? Due to my struggles with mental health, college wasn’t always a guarantee for me. I knew wherever I went had to understand that I wasn’t just a student. I am also a human. At Elon, education is so much more than a classroom and that meant the world to me!
Favorite Elon tradition: Acorns! When I was looking at colleges, I used to say I wanted to go somewhere that had trees and lots of them. Who knew I would end up somewhere named after one! (Elon is Hebrew for oak.) I love the tradition of getting acorns at New Student Convocation and an oak sapling at graduation because Elon is a place where you grow.
Most memorable Elon experience: A week before spring break my first year, my friends and I had brought out a hammock near Lake Mary Nell. We sat, listened to music, painted and enjoyed the beautiful weather. A couple months before that, when I moved into college on my 18th birthday, I was so nervous that a dorm in North Carolina wouldn’t feel like home. But in that moment on the hammock I realized how much I was dreading leaving Elon and how far I had come in such a short period of time.

Why Elon? Elon values diversity and ensures that all students have access to learn about cultures and backgrounds that they have not been exposed to. Elon also has spaces around campus where all students are welcomed and can further their knowledge of diversity, equity and inclusion.
My most memorable Elon experience: My most memorable experience was Phoenix Fusion Weekend, which is a diversity event for prospective students. Everyone was welcoming and treated me like I was already a student at Elon. By the time August rolled around, I already knew upperclassmen who always asked how I was adjusting and helped me get acquainted with the many interesting opportunities Elon provides.
Favorite Elon tradition: My favorite Elon tradition is the Festival of Holiday Lights because it was the first holiday festival that I have been to that celebrated the holiday traditions of all cultures and religions.

Why Elon? I chose Elon because of all of the opportunities being a Phoenix granted me. Moreover, I walked onto campus, and I heard how much the students and faculty cared for Elon. Everyone I spoke to talked about how they loved Elon and wanted to make the university and experience better for students. Elon was the one school that was actually listening to students and actively working to make changes and progress on campus. To me, that was incredible.
Most memorable Elon experience: My most memorable Elon experience would have to be my first mock trial tournament at Ohio State. It was my first time competing and I had just joined the team about a month before. It was a great experience to bond with my teammates and really get to know one another.
Favorite Elon tradition: My favorite Elon tradition is College Coffee because I love the free breakfast every Tuesday, but also because it’s an incredible experience to connect with faculty outside of class and helps you to form actual relationships with your professors.

Favorite Elon tradition: My favorite tradition is Cram Jam, which is right before exams. It creates a sense of community and fun during what is usually the most stressful time of the semester. It is great to be able to take a break from studying to go eat and hang out with friends.
Most memorable Elon experience: My most memorable Elon experience was my first Winter Term. I made some of my closest friends during that time, and I was working as an understudy on a show that I was excited about.

Most memorable Elon experience: My most memorable Elon experience was the last day of school before spring break. My friends and I gathered outside of the Moseley Center, played frisbee, listened to music and enjoyed the great weather.
Favorite Elon tradition: My favorite Elon tradition is the Festival of Holiday lights because seeing campus glow at night is truly an experience! I spent my first one with my friends drinking hot chocolate and walking around to find our luminaries.

Why Elon? I chose Elon because the people I met through my application and admission process were people I couldn’t not imagine not seeing every day. They already felt like my friends, like they were supposed to be in my life. That sense of love and the opportunity to receive rigorous acting training and explore other subjects made Elon home.
Favorite Elon tradition: My favorite Elon tradition is the Festival of Holiday Lights because of the sense of community, and it comes at a perfect time. It’s so calming and uplifting to take an hour away from the stress of the academic year and gather with the Elon community to celebrate the season. The campus transforms under the lights and the luminaries make Elon feel even more like home.
Most memorable Elon experience: While it may sound counter intuitive at first, my most memorable Elon experience was the day I moved out at the end of my first year. I vastly underestimated the difficulty of moving myself out and the amount of stuff I had crammed into that dorm room. My best friends saved the day at the last minute, helping me vacuum and pushing huge carts of luggage all the way across campus. Crying with my best friends in the dorm parking lot as my Uber driver waited impatiently for our final hugs put into perspective how much I had grown since moving in and how lucky I am to love so deeply the life I have created at Elon.

Why Elon? I chose Elon because it was the school where I could see myself being happy. I knew that I would be able to have a balanced social and academic life. I was also immediately sold on how beautiful the campus is.
Favorite Elon tradition: My favorite Elon tradition is College Coffee because it is a great opportunity to talk to professors out of class and meet new people (and the free food and coffee are a bonus). It helps make the people around you feel like your community.
Most memorable Elon experience: My most memorable Elon experience would be the first day that I came back to campus for fall term my sophomore year. The campus wasn’t some foreign place that I was visiting anymore; it was my home. I think the moment that a first-year student asked me for directions that day I realized that I was no longer that confused and lost kid. I was now the one to help them. It cemented a new chapter in my life.

Why Elon? I chose Elon because I felt that it was the best school for me. I had felt the best connection to the school of all other schools I had applied to.
Favorite Elon tradition: My favorite Elon tradition is Phoenix Fusion Weekend, which is a diversity event for prospective students, because I like showing prospective students how fun Elon is and all the school has to offer.
Most memorable Elon experience: My most memorable Elon experience is when it snowed on campus my first year and we got a couple days of no school.
