Pre-Selection Day: View Only

  • The spaces for each process are typically made available in a “view only” format in Self-Service one day prior to each process.
  • This opens so groups/individuals can “shop” and make a plan for what spaces you are interested in prior to your actual selection time. Please make multiple plans (Plan A, B, C) with your group so the person selecting for your group is fully able to make decisions quickly on behalf of the group.

On Selection Day: Finding and Selecting Your Space:

  1. Each student’s sign-up time (which is shown as “Start Time”) will be posted on their Self-Service.
    1. The given time is in bold and the time includes the hour:minute:second that you are able to begin – so for example a selection time of 10:45:00 AM means 45 minutes after 10am. Be prepared to make your group’s selection when it is your time (or later, but before the end of the day’s process).
    2. You will use the BEST selection time in your group and that person will select for the group. Be sure to review the floor plan in advance and decide who will be placed in each room.
  2. On your desired selection day/time, log onto Self-Service and click on the Select A Room/Suite button.
    1. NOTE: Depending on what type of housing you’re looking for, you will see all the processes you’re eligible for on your Self-Service.
  3. Click on the down arrow on the Select from Room List button.
  4. Input as many filters as needed but at least select the neighborhood you’re interested in.
  5. Search the Available Rooms (#) (# = total rooms for you based on your group size and the filters you chose in step 3):
    Room Type: Double/Single/etc.
    Spots: Total # of Spots available
    Rate: the amount listed is for upcoming fall and is billed per Term (i.e. Fall and Spring); it will say Lease if you’re looking at an apartment.

    Roster Button: allows you to see if someone is already assigned in the space or in the other suite

  7. You’re ready to place your group into their official bed spaces.
    IMPORTANT NOTE: your name will auto-populate in one of the bed spaces, please CAN change it by clicking on the down arrow and selecting another bed space. After submitting the selection these bed/room placements ARE FINAL.
