Degree Requirements & Courses
The Cinema & Television Arts B.F.A. degree has been discontinued and is not an option for incoming students. The 2023-24 class is the last group of students that will have it offered. The Cinema & TV Arts A.B. degree will continue as outlined in the academic catalog.
Cinema and television are art forms that focus on creative storytelling through words, sounds, images, actions and music. They can communicate both fact and fiction through live events, scripted programs, documentaries and narrative cinema.
A Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Cinema & Television Arts (a separate Bachelor of Fine Arts degree is described below) requires 52 credit hours in Communications, plus the 2-hour GST 115 Public Speaking course. Students must complete a minimum of 72 credit hours outside of Communications, including an academic minor or double major or a semester abroad in an Elon-approved program.
