Steps in Applying
Apply early for need-based aid. This improves your chances for getting the maximum aid for which you are eligible. 
You should complete the 2027-2028 FAFSA as soon as possible. The FAFSA is available on studentaid.gov on October 1st. We will begin to review FAFSA data in early January for first-year students and in April for continuing students.
Unless the student is a continuing student, no aid is is processed until the student has been accepted for admission to Elon University; however, you should not wait until you have been accepted to apply for aid.
- For all types of aid, complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Elon’s FAFSA federal Title IV school code is 002927.
- Elon University no longer requires the CSS Profile for consideration of institutional need-based financial aid. Students only need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered for federal, state, and Elon University need-based aid programs. If additional information is needed to determine eligibility for institutional aid, the Office of Financial Aid will contact the student directly.
- Notify Elon’s Office of Financial Aid of any scholarships, grants, loans or other assistance you will be receiving from any source other than Elon University. Such notification is required by federal regulation as well as institutional policy.
