Residence Life is pleased to provide an opportunity for residents to enhance their neighborhood identity through art and expression. Residents are invited to individually or form groups to artistically highlight (on a 20 x 24 canvas) their neighborhood theme to help increase neighborhood pride! For more information about your neighborhood theme check out the websites below. Residents can submit for their current neighborhood or any of the other neighborhoods listed below.

Submissions Guidelines and Deadlines

  • September 24th– Students will submit a form which will include a color copy sketch or template of the design to Residence Life for approval.
  • By October 1st– Submissions will be reviewed by the respective neighborhood’s Student Neighborhood Association and one design will be selected as the finalist.
  • October 5th- The primary point of contact for the submissions will be notified of your status. A copy of the design will be kept by Residence Life. Please note once selected as the winning design no revisions can be made to the original submission once approved.
  • October 6th- Residence Life will provide the canvas, paint brushes, paint, and any additional supplies needed which can be picked up from the main Residence Life office in the Janice Ratliff Building 101.
  • October 22nd- Tentative deadline to have the murals completed

Incentives for Participation

  • Winning murals for each neighborhood will be permanently displayed for the academic year within the Neighborhood Office for each neighborhood.
  • Participants of the team will receive a gift card to a local Elon restaurant.
  • Murals will also be displayed at the Annual Living & Learning at Elon Reception
