Fostering an Integrated Learning Environment

Elon offers close to forty sections of first-year core curriculum foundations courses that are residentially linked to the neighborhood in which students live. Linked courses help students integrate their in class and out of class experiences and enable students to more easily study together, perform group work, and have a class-based cohort experience in their own neighborhood. Students will not necessarily live next to each other, on the same floor or even in the same building as their classmates, but all of the students in a particular linked course will reside in the same neighborhood on Elon’s campus. Many faculty teaching these linked courses will take advantage of the programs and events in their linked neighborhood and build course experiences around them.

Linked courses

  • COR 110: The Global Experience
  • ENG 110: Writing: Argument and Inquiry
  • STS 110: Introduction to Statistical Reasoning
