What is a Judicial Clerkship?

Typically following law school graduation, federal and state judicial clerkships are one to two-year terms with a judge. The clerk’s duties generally include research and writing on legal issues pending before the judge, drafting legal opinions, case management assistance, and liaison between the judge and attorneys.
