Honors Fellows
Please visit the Honors
Program Web site to learn more.
The Honors
Program offers intellectually demanding and dynamic courses
that focus on writing and critical-thinking skills.
Throughout the four-year sequence, you will learn how to
conduct sophisticated academic research in preparation for
the highlight of the program -- the development and
presentation of an honors thesis.
Simply put, as an Honors Fellow you will be challenged to take advantage of all the best features of an Elon education:
- Take interdisciplinary honors courses to get a broad perspective on the arts and sciences and their interconnections.
-
Learn the formal process of writing a
thesis by choosing a topic and working collaboratively with
a faculty mentor. There's no better preparation for
graduate school.
-
Experience the thrill and intensity of
writing and presenting a major work of scholarship.
-
Expand your global perspective through
study abroad.
- Join a community of kindred spirits who want to be fully engaged in a life-changing academic experience.
Who
should apply?
Students who have taken a demanding
high school curriculum, rank in the top of their class, and
have SATs of 1940 (ACT 30) or higher and a GPA of 3.8 or
higher are encouraged to apply.
Each year, 40 students will be selected as Honors Fellows based on their high school records, essays, teacher recommendations and interviews. Honors Fellows may pursue any major offered at the university except for engineering.
